Strategic/Prospective Plan
Ram Lal College, Purnia, established in 1973 and a constituent unit of Purnea University, is governed by a well-defined organizational structure. The Governing Body serves as the highest authority for policy formulation and institutional planning.
- The Principal, appointed on the recommendations of a duly constituted Selection Committee as per university norms, is the head of the institution.
- The Governing Body consists of nine members, including the Principal as the ex-officio Secretary.
- The Chairman, in consultation with the Secretary, nominates additional members, fills vacancies, and oversees infrastructural development, faculty recruitment, fund management, and academic policies.
Administrative Framework
- The administration is headed by the Principal, supported by:
- Heads of Departments (HODs) and faculty members for academic matters.
- A Superintendent who supervises non-teaching staff, manages accounts, and oversees developmental activities.
Student Representation
- The college has an active Students’ Union Body, democratically elected each year.
- It is led by a President, General Secretary, and other elected Executive Members with one-year tenure.
- An Advisory Board, comprising three faculty members nominated by the Principal, works closely with the Union to promote student welfare, address grievances, and contribute to academic and co-curricular improvements.
Employee Regulations & Recruitment
- All employees of the college are governed by the Service Rules, which define recruitment processes, salary structures, codes of conduct, and promotion policies.
- Recruitment of teachers is conducted strictly in accordance with UGC norms through a duly constituted Selection Committee.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
- Ram Lal College maintains a transparent and responsive Grievance Redressal Mechanism under the leadership of the Principal.
- A Grievance Box near the administrative office allows students and the public to submit written complaints.
- Complaints are reviewed by the Grievance Redressal Cell, discussed in meetings, and addressed promptly.
- Stakeholders may also be invited to present grievances directly, ensuring fair resolutions and a healthy teaching-learning atmosphere.
Quality Initiatives
- In line with its mission of continuous growth, Ram Lal College has undertaken numerous initiatives in academics, infrastructure, and co-curricular activities.
- The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) prepares institutional perspective plans and develops quality benchmarks in accordance with UGC guidelines and state/central policies.
- The committee includes university representatives, local experts, and the Principal as Chairperson.
- Development plans are framed in consultation with department heads and executed after obtaining university approvals.
